Homeschool Basic Training Everyone Should Go Through | 188
On last weeks' episode, Leslie and David talked about a massive hindrance to homeschooling success, and this week they're back to give you some strategies to overcome that hindrance through Deschooling.
A lot of what they talk about comes straight from a book Leslie wrote called Heart School: How Amazing Parents Become Excellent Home Educators. In that book, she discusses the tie between the idea of deschooling and strengthening your relationships within your family, but she doesn't expand on that idea.
The feedback and the interest in that concept in the book has been pretty amazing as people have keyed on that idea and really wanted more information about it so today Leslie and David will dive deeper into what that can actually look like within your own family.
TOPICS COVERED IN THIS EPISODE:
• What is Deschooling
• How all homeschooling families should undergo basic training, sometimes more than once.
• How our previous discussion about wisdom comes into play in a discussion about Deschooling. (See episode 170 to learn about the Wisdom of Putting things Together.)
• How to wade through all the "noise" to figure out what's important to your family.
• Things to think about as you approach your homeschool journey.
• Then, Leslie will give 6 steps to deschooling that will strengthen your family and improve your academic efforts.
